Dans un billet de blog publié ce 25 octobre, le célèbre antivirus Avast met en garde les utilisateurs
Android : des pirates déploient actuellement une campagne d'escroquerie sur le Play Store. Baptisée
UltimaSMS par les experts en sécurité informatique d'Avast, cette campagne a pour but de voler
l'argent des internautes.
Le modus operandi des hackers derrière UltimaSMS se rapproche de celui d'un célèbre malware
apparu à plusieurs reprises sur les téléphones Android, le Joker. Régulièrement banni du Play Store,
le logiciel malveillant a été conçu pour subtiliser des petites sommes sur le compte bancaires des
usagers à leur insu. Concrètement, les applications vérolées sont capables d'inscrire leurs victimes
à des services payants par SMS.
